2004 gelding by Navarone out of Natasja, a Keur mare by Indoctro. He has a rectangular conformation and with a great range of movement in his front shoulder that produces lovely gaits and excellent jumping ability. He has a well developed hind end that gives him more than sufficient power to clear all levels of hunter jumps and makes him very capable of jumping in excess of 4 feet.
Zurich is very willing to learn. He has a very well developed and expressive walk, trot and canter. He is a good counter canter and is working on flying lead changes, leg yield, shoulder in and turning on the haunches. Zurich has experience working through a jump chute and demonstrates a natural ability for jumping. He has beautiful tuck of the front legs through the jump chute.
He has experience with cavelletti and doing airbourne turns, and going through a jumping lane under saddle. This winter we plan to compete in local training shows, then move him to lower level hunter/jumper classes this spring and summer. In March 2010, on his first trip off the farm, Zurich went to his first show and showed in 2'6" the first day and 2'9" the second day.
Zurich’s dam sire, Indoctro, is ranked as one of the top 10 jumper stallions in the World. He had three offspring competing in the Olympic games in 2008 and his offspring compete in major Grand Prix’s around the world: Black Ice, Casadora, Don Porifirio, Maddock, Youp, Nassau, Orame, VDL Masserati, and many others. Indoctro passes his jumping genes and good conformation. Indoctro has an exceptional jumping index of 141.
Zurich’s sire is Navarone; the only approved son of the double Olympic Champion Jus de Pomme. Jus de Pomme is the only stallion that won two Gold Medals at the Olympic Games. Navarone’s performances are very good. He won the 1st prize in the Stallion Competition and placed high many times in Z level jumping classes. Two of his daughters were in the finals of the free jumping competition during the Dutch Championship for 3-year-old mares.
